URL Based Customization

You can define rules based on URLs to provide unique & personalized experiences to your visitors based on their current page.

URL based triggers & conversations

For each URL you can define rules to specify which playbooks should be triggered when a visitor reaches this particular page.

Only Owner & Admin role can define these rules

To define the rules, follow these steps:

  • You will see a section name URL Playbook Mapping like this

  • Here you can Download Sample URL file to see what kind of rules you can create.

    • Each rule requires these fields

      • url (Required)

        This is the URL for which the rule needs to be created. It can be an exact URL without query parameters or it could be a prefix of a URL family

      • interests (Optional)

        This is deprecated feature. Leave it blank.

      • personas (Optional)

        This is deprecated feature. Leave it blank.

      • event (Required)

        This event value should be the playbook's page_tag

      • match_type (Required)

        Possible values of match_type

        • PREFIX - Looks for a prefix matching when doing comparison of actual URL with the rules.

        • EXACT - Looks for an exact matching when doing comparison of actual URL with the rules

  • Populate the excel file with the rules & upload them

  • And, you are now set with URL based dedicated conversational triggers.

URL based visibility of chat widget

For each URL you can define rules to specify if the chat widget is available on a particular page or not.

Only Owner & Admin role can define these rules

To define the rules, follow these steps:

  • Here you can Download Sample Rules file to see what kind of rules you can create.

    • Each rule requires these fields

      • url (Required)

        This is the URL for which the rule needs to be created. Please note its a prefix match. So all URLs starting with this value will have the rule applied to them.

      • rule (Required)

        • Possible values of rule

          • ALLOW - this allows a chat-widget to be visible on the the URLs matching the criteria.

          • DENY - this allows a chat-widget to be hidden on the the URLs matching the criteria.

  • Populate the excel file with the rules & upload them

  • And, you are now set with URL based visibility rules.
